Poem Illustration: Because I Could Not Stop For Death
Illustration for the poem "Because I Could Not Stop For Death" by Emily Dickinson.
This is the second illustration using crow quill pen and ink I've taken on.
- I tried to represent multiple elements referred to in the poem. The setting sun, fields of wheat, children playing.
- I actually don't know what a carriage looks like from the back. What does it look like? There is supposed to be only one figure within the carriage.
- Death on the left, life on the right - The hill slants downward towards nightfall, the sun moves across the sky to turn into a moon. Calla lilies grow on the left, contrasting with the wheat on the right.
