gouache exercise with playing card theme. I decided to do a Queen of Diamonds card design inspired by "Diamond Jessie" Hayman. I thought to do it after reading this article: How 19th Century Prostitutes Were Among the Freest, Wealthiest, Most Educated Women of Their Time. The pistol packing madams were the queens of the Wild West!
I actually don't know what Diamond Jessie looked like, though... this is just my guess with some embellishments. I tried to mimic the style of actual playing cards, but it just kind of looks anime style.
The gun is a Remington 1858.
