Sketchbook

I tried a sketch of illustration teacher Rick Osaka while he was critiquing in class using my Niji water brush. The fibers on the brush head aren't that great, but being able to paint on the fly with just one tool is really neat. I just used a smudge of gouache in two colors, and they blended as I dragged the lines through - I quite like the look as opposed to just using straight black/gray. It's scary to have no Ctrl+Z undo, but there's just no replacement for real media.

I went searching around at prices at various stores, and it seems Dick Blick is the cheapest place to snag a water brush.
